Jig Crafting Tips

Here are a couple of tips that I found useful recently.
  • When nail polish thickens with age, thin it with 100% acetone nail polish remover.  Add several drops to a bottle of nail polish and then mix it before next use.  Watch air bubbles travel quickly to the surface as clear nail polish thins.  Apply it in a well-ventilated area.
  • Isopropyl alcohol effectively removes indelible ink (Sharpie marker) from skin.

  1. I will have to try the acetone, i have a few bottles from my wife that there is no telling how old they are. A couple are interesting colors too, couldn't let myself throw them away. :D

  2. Actually, I find it best to use an eye dropper bottle and fill it with the acetone nail polish remover. Then, I just drip the acetone into the nail polish bottle, cap it, and shake. Repeat if necessary.

I used to throw away bottles of thickened nail polish. Not anymore, I use them up! :)
